Chicago White Sox
The Chicago White Sox ply their trade in the south side of Chicago. Guaranteed Rate Field, formerly U.S. Cellular Field which was formerly Comiskey Park first opened its gates for the 1991 season when it replaced Old Comiskey Park. It's fair to say the initial stadium reviews didn't go down too well; labelled corporate, soulless and not particularly fan-friendly. Since then the owners have invested heavily with numerous renovations over the past 20 years, and now a visit to see the Sox is a friendly and enjoyable experience for local fans and visitors alike.
On the field, the baseball club has struggled since their last World Series title in 2005, reaching the postseason only two times in that period, without a series victory in either. However, after an impressive 2020, there are higher expectations for the South-Siders moving forward, especially with superstars Tim Anderson, José Abreu and Liam Hendricks among their ranks.
