Downtown Denver
Denver is a stunning city. It may be over a mile above sea level in places, but it feels like it sits in a bowl beneath the soaring Rocky Mountains.
Besides the Baseball, there is plenty to do here; visit the Denver Museum of Nature & Science and the Denver Zoo, rent bicycles at outlets like Denver B-cycle and hit the 85 miles of paved trails, or hit the Denver Beer Trail with an expert guide and visit 20 of the best craft ale breweries in the U.S.A. For a taste of old-time Denver, spend some time in Larimer Square – also a good place to sample some of the city's cuisine and, of course, more beer...For some evening entertainment, head 10 miles West of the city to the Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre, a stunning concert venue that is actually built into the rock, with mesmerizing views all around.
*Travel in September and combine your baseball viewing with a game at Sports Authority Field to watch the Denver Broncos. Visit in May and you can watch the Colorado Avalanche (2-time Stanley Cup winners), or the Denver Nuggets.*
Colorado & Beyond
After you’ve seen the city; you can always jump in a rental car and drive to some of the most beautiful spots in the country, like Alberta Falls, the Old Fall River Road, or the Trail Ridge Road.
Colorado State offers magnificent and diverse scenery, from the snow-capped peaks and alpine lakes of Rocky Mountain National Park, to the remarkable red rock formation of the Colorado National Monument and Garden of the Gods.
Of course, Denver is the gateway to the Rocky Mountains and is therefore popular with skiers and other outdoor enthusiasts. Whether you are climbing Pikes Peak, hiking the Royal Arch Trail, exploring Mesa Verde National Park and its unique Pueblo cliff dwellings, hopping aboard the magnificent Durango & Silverton Narrow Gage Railway or just going on an epic road trip along the San Juan Skyway Scenic Byway and the Million Dollar Highway, there is something for everyone in the Centennial State.
If you would like to get beyond Colorado, you can head North to Yellowstone NP in Wyoming, Arches and Canyonlands NP's to the West in Utah and the spectacular Grand Canyon in Arizona to the South-West.
