Cincinnati Reds

Located on the winding banks of the Ohio River in downtown Cincinnati, Great American Ball Park serves as the home of the Cincinnati Reds, baseball's first professional franchise.

The ballpark is beautiful; a perfect mix of new ballpark amenities and old-time baseball history. The legacy of Rose, Bench, Morgan and the rest of the Big Red Machine are everywhere, from the statues as you walk in, to the jerseys on the fans. The big 1869 behind home plate is a constant reminder of the baseball tradition and the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame and Museum is well worth a visit.

It's been over 30 years since the Reds last tasted World Series glory, however there are certainly some promising signs after reaching the playoffs in 2020, only to lose to the Braves in a Wildcard game. Can they improve on this, this season?

Over-the-Rhine

Rich with history, packed with things to do, and bursting at the seams with culture, Over-The-Rhine (also known locally as OTR) is home to many of the best bars, restaurants, and shops in all of Cincinnati.

Washington Park, located in the heart of the neighbourhood, is one of the city’s premier public spaces that hosts events year-round. Findlay Market, located on the north end of OTR, is home to Ohio’s oldest farmers’ market. For those looking for something a little more classical, head to the Music Hall which is home to the Cincinnati Ballet, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, and the Cincinnati Opera.

No visit to the city should happen without trying a 'Five-Way' (no, not that kind). Cincinnati is famous for it's chili which is poured over spaghetti and served with grated cheese, onions and beans.

Fly-Drive Trips

Cincinnati is such a centrally located city; it's surrounded by a number of other iconic cities and regions that it creates the perfect road trip. From here you can either explore more of the Mid-West or head down to the Deep-South. It's also the perfect place to see some more ballgames and ballparks; most notably PNC Park in Pittsburgh and Busch Stadium in St. Louis.

Baseball fans should also pay a visit to the Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory in Louisville, Kentucky! Make sure to take a photo of the 'Big Bat', the world's largest baseball bat. Made of steel, it weighs 68,000 pounds and towers 120 feet into the sky. The Big Bat is an exact-scale replica of Babe Ruth's 34-inch Louisville Slugger bat.
