Miami Marlins
Known for its vibrant culture, diverse population and fantastic nightlife, the City of Miami is a sports mecca as it is home to four professional sports franchises, including the Miami Marlins. The Marlins history in Miami is as diverse as its population as they have won two World Series Championships since 1993, but have been plagued by consecutive losing seasons multiple times since their inception.
From 1993 through to 2011, the then Florida Marlins played their games at Joe Robbie Stadium (now Hard Rock Stadium). The franchise then had a complete makeover; a new name, new logos and a brand-spanking-new stadium. Initial reaction for what is now known as loanDepot Park wasn't too favourable, however, after a few changes including the removal of two aquariums, a pool and a bizarre 75-foot structure featuring moving waves, flamingos, seagulls and marlins (this has been moved outside of the stadium), the ballpark is a lot more fan-friendly and spacious, especially in the outfield areas. It certainly is a unique stadium and is a world away from the Retro style ballparks that have been built over the last 30 years.
