Arizona Diamondbacks
It might be a scorching 100 degrees outside during the summer in Phoenix, but at Chase Field, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks, you can step inside to watch a ballgame and even jump in a pool!
Phoenix is also the base city for the MLB's Spring Training Cactus League, so it is a great place to catch multiple games and teams from Mid-February through to the end of March.
The D-Backs last tasted World Series victory in 2001, on the back of legendary pitcher Randy Johnson and fan favourite Luis Gonzalez.

THINGS TO DO IN AND AROUND PHOENIX
Phoenix and Scottsdale
Also known as the 'Valley of the Sun', due to it's endless days of sunshine and winter warmth, Arizona's state capital, Phoenix, and its neighbouring city, Scottsdale is home to dozens of resorts, hundreds of golf courses, countless great restaurants, fascinating museums and upscale shopping. You will find it easy to unwind at these cosmopolitan oases in the Sonoran Desert. If you're visiting in September, be sure to check out a Cardinals football game at the State Farm Stadium in nearby Glendale.
Grand Canyon
Home to one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, the spectacular Grand Canyon is a geological marvel that has to be seen to be believed whenever you're in Arizona or its neighbouring states. Wander out onto the glass bridge at Grand Canyon Skywalk, and be awed by the multicoloured rock formations that stretch as far as the eyes can see. Challenge the Colorado River rapids on a whitewater rafting tour and soar over the cliffs on a zipline and see the immense canyon rush beneath your feet.
Ranches
Riding on horseback, driving cattle across the wide-open landscape and singing around a campfire, no trip to Arizona would be complete without experiencing a stay at a ranch. Enjoy superb riding programmes and other exciting outdoor activities like a real cowboy!
